I have been in the real estate and housing business in one way or another since 1980. In college I started managing small apartment complexes to get free rent. After I graduated and moved back to Louisville, I continued working at various apartment communities and eventually worked my way up to manager where I worked in a variety of places in Louisville and Southern Indiana. After that, I tried my hand at real estate investing. I started with a couple of 4-plexes and then accumulated 17 single family rental houses over the course of 10-12 years. Managing these and intermittently “flipping” another dozen or so houses kept me very busy while I continued to raise 3 children. I enjoyed this very much and felt I was successfully making money,"
